Necrons

Your Tomb World awaits my lord, the dirty creatures that make up the populations of this galaxy need to be taught their place.

Playing an an Necron

Your goal as a Necron Phaeron is to wake your Tomb World and to cull all of the upstart races in the Priam Sub Sector. That and prove which Phaeron is supreme.

Gaining Strategic Points

You may gain Strategic Points in the following ways.

  • Harvesting
  • Establishing Dominance

The Phaeron

You must have a Phaeron this is a Necron Overlord. Increase its wounds by 1.

The Court

Your court has the following units;

  • 2 Overlords
  • 4 Lords
  • 8 Royal Wardens

Any Overlord may choose in any game to be in a Command Barge.

These models are the only units you track. Other than the Destroyer Cult.

Awakening Protocols

At the start of your narrative events you may only use the following units; Units with the Cryptek keyword or the Canoptek keyword. Scarabs are not effected by the rule of three.

From there every time you loose a game you may choose to wake a unit from the 1st Protocol. These are the following units;

Lords, Royal Wardens, Necron Warriors, Tomb Blades, Annihalation Barge, Doomsday Ark, Ghost Ark, Doom Scythe, Night Scythe, Monolith.

Once you have awakened 5 1st Protocol units you may start awakening 2nd Protocol units when you loose a game. These are the following units;

Immortals, Deathmarks, Triachs, Triach Praetorians.

When you have awakened 2 2nd Protocol units you may start awakening 3rd Protocol units when you loose a game. These are the following units;

Overlord, Lychguard.

When you have awakened all other units you may start awakening the Final Protocol units. These are the following units;

Any unit with the C’Tan keyword.

When picking an army for a game you may only units that have been awakened.

The Harvest

When playing a game you gain Strategic Points by killing enemy units.

For each wound you cause gain 1 harvest token. At the end of the game you gain 1 Strategic Point for every 10 Harvest Points.

Establishing Dominance

When you have twice as many Strategic Points as all the other Necron players (singly) you become the True Phaeron. The True Phaeron receives 1 Strategic Point for every 10 Strategic Points each other Necron Player earns, paid by that player.

The True Phaeron may choose to establish extinction protocols. A player may gain and loose the title of True Phaeron many times.

Extinction Protocols

The True Phaeron may initiate extinction protocols on a planet adjacent to a Tomb World (or on the Tomb World). This is a planetary invasion. If the Necrons win the invasion then the planet becomes a barren world with no controller.

You may also choose to enact extinction protocols on any planet adjacent to a barren world that has a link of barren worlds between it and the Tomb World.

The Tomb World

Each Necron player has a Tomb World. This is kept hidden and is only revealed if the Tournament Organiser says so. The most likely reason for this is the Tomb World has enacted the Final Protocol or the world has been invaded by Tyranids.

Plans Within Plans

Necrons can choose to fight as any faction as part of an invasion. Eg. A Necron player could choose to player as an Imperial player in an invasion. If they won the win would count towards the Imperials.

Spending Strategic Points

You may use Strategic Points for the following additional effects;

  • 2 Strategic Points: Change a characters type, keep all boons on the character. If you increase their cost you also need to pay Strategic Points for that on a 1 Strategic Point Per 20pts.
  • 8 Strategic Points: Give an Enhancement to a model. This must follow the normal rules for the Enhancement.
  • 10 Strategic Points: For the remainder of this event you may field one named character. This character will leave your master unit list at the end of the event. You must roll on the injury chart for this model if it is removed as a casualty.
  • 15 Strategic Points: Awaken a single un-awakened unit.
  • 25 Strategic Points: Enact Extinction Protocols.

Injury Rolls

For each non character model removed as a casualty during the game roll a d6 on a 2+ nothing happens. On a 1 the model becomes part of the Destroyer Cult.

If the model is a Royal Court character roll 2d6 on the table below;

  • 1: The model is changed into a Destroyer Lord of your choice.
  • 2-3: Miss the next D3 games and remove one boon.
  • 4-7: Miss the next game.
  • 8+: This model may be used in the next game.

Each time the model is removed as a casualty it gain a -1 modifier to this dice roll. This is cumulative.

If the model becomes a Destroyer it loses all boons.

The Destroyer Cult

You may field 1 Destroyer model for each model that joins the Destroyer cult. You need to track the number of Destroyers available to your Tomb World. If a Destroyer model rolls a 2 on the Injury Roll it is destroyed, reduce the number of Destroyer Cult by 1. The only way your army may field Destroyer units is through the Destroyer Cult.

The Smell of Blood

You may at the start of your command phase you may spend 10 harvest points to summon a unit of Flayed Ones at its smallest size. You may summon larger units at 10 harvest points for each size increase.

You may have no more than 3 units of Flayed Ones in play at any time.

Phase Out

You may choose to withdraw all your models from turn 3 onward. If you do, you only count as losing the game (for purposes of Awakening Protocols) if you have had 50% of your forces become casualties.

Boons

After each game you may roll 2d6 for each Royal Court Character fielded in the last game on the following table;

  • 2-3: +1 Wound
  • 4-5: +1 Toughness
  • 6: +1 Attack to a single weapon.
  • 7: Gain a Strategic Point
  • 8: +1 Strength to a single weapon.
  • 9-10: +1 Move
  • 11-12: Reduce all damage delivered to this model by 1 to a minimum of 1.

Blackstone Pylons

Necron players may choose to install Blackstone Pylons on a system after playing a game. This costs the Necron player 100 Strategic Points. All warp lanes linking the planet become unstable warp lanes. Also the planet may not be attacked via any other method that would ignore warp lanes.
