Regiments and Retinue Units that are fielded may roll on the following table for their boons at the end of every game.

  • 2-3: 6+ (or +1) Feel no Pain
  • 4-5: Re-roll 1s to hit when making a shooting attack.
  • 6: Re-roll 1s to wound when making an attack.
  • 7: Gain a Strategic Point
  • 8: Re-roll 1s to wound when making an attack.
  • 9-10: Re-roll 1s to hit when making a combat attack.
  • 11-12: Increase the units Leadership by 1.

If rolled for a Regiment then the whole Regiment receives the boon and all units increase their costs based on their boons.

The Lord Militant

A Lord Militant will be present at the event. This is NPC will be responsible for the Imperial forces.

The Responsibilities of the Lord Militant

The Lord Militant will be given all Strategy Points acquired by Astra Militarum players. They may then gift any number of Strategy Points in their control to any Imperial Player.

The Lord Militant receives an income from all Imperial held planets. This happens at the start of the event day, with the income from each planet as below;

Barren World0 Strategic Point
Death World3 Strategic Points
Agri World6 Strategic Points
Civilised World9 Strategic Points
Shrine World12 Strategic Points
Knight World18 Strategic Points
Forge World24 Strategic Points
Tomb World21 Strategic Points
Craft World21 Strategic Points
Hive World36 Strategic Points
Fortress World50 Strategic Points
Daemon World50 Strategic Points
Daemon Forge World75 Strategic Points

The Lord Militant also receives 5 Strategic Points for each Shipyard the Imperium Controls. Destroyed Shipyards count as a Raided Warplane.

Reduce the value of any planet touching a raided warp lane by 5 for each Raided Warp Lane. This can make the planet be worth less than 0, therefore costing money.

Issuing Medals

The Lord Militant may choose to issue medals at any point. These medals must be purchased.

Each medal increases the units cost as if they had received a boon. A unit may receive a medal more than once but each additional time doubles the cost. For example a 10 Strategic Point medal issued to a unit for a 3rd time would cost 40 Strategic Points. The following medals are available;

Order Of Ollanius Pius (50 Strategic Points)
The very highest honour a warrior can receive. Models in this unit may not take more than three damage in a single phase. This medal can only be issued to an Infantry unit.

The Star Of Terra (50 Strategic Points)
Second only to the Order Of Ollanius Pius this medal is incredibly rare. Models in this unit reduce all damage by 1 to a minimum of 1.

Honourifica Imperialis (20 Strategic Points)
One of the many gallantry medals available to warriors of the Imperium. This unit gains the Fight First ability.

The Macharian Cross (15 Strategic Points)
Recognition of intelligent application of the Tactica Imperialis. Aura: Friendly Imperial units within 6″ of this unit may re-roll 1s to hit.

Medallion Crimson (15 Strategic Points)
Issued to soldiers that have continued in their duty despite horrific injuries. Models in this unit gain the Feel No Pain (5+) ability or increase their Feel No Pain ability by 1 to a maximum of 3+.

The Eagle Ordinary (15 Strategic Points)
Issued to soldiers that show valour in the face of the enemy. Models in this unit may not have their to hit roll negatively modified.

The Order Of The Scarlet Wing (15 Strategic Points)
Issued to units that have partaken in a aerial assault that has taken 60% or more casualties and has still succeeded. This unit gain the Deep Strike core rule.

The Ribbon Intrinsic (5 Strategic Points)
Issued to soldiers that are the linchpin of a victorious battle. Aura: Friendly Imperial units within 6″ of this unit may re-roll failed Battle-shock tests.

The Merrit of Terra (5 Strategic Points)
Issued to warriors that have stood fast no matter their injuries. Models in the unit gain +1 Wound.

When a medal is issued to a unit pick one model in the unit. That model is the recipient and if they die their medal is lost.

If the model is moved to another unit then the old unit loses the medals effects and the new unit gains them (including increasing their costs based on boons).

If the medal is issued to a unit that is not tracked as part of a master unit list the unit becomes a Retinue unit with all the rules and benefits.

You may replace casualties in these units at the cost of 1 Strategic Point per model.

The General Commissar

At the event their will be an NPC General Commissar.

The General Commissar will lead an Astra Militarum force and their Lord Militant will be a Commissar instead of a Cadian Castellan.

The General Commissar is responsible for the morale of the Imperial forces.

The General Commissar gains 25 Strategic Points for each Astra Militarum player at the start of each event day. The General Commissar does not give their Strategic Points to the Lord Militant.

Summary Execution

The General Commissar may choose to summarily execute a Lord General or Lord Militant. This costs them 25 Strategic Points. The model is killed and removed from the players roster.

If the General Commissar executes a Lord General all units under that players control automatically pass all morale tests for the rest of the event day.

Commissariat Boons

The General Commissar may offer the following boons to Astra Militarum units.

The Segmentum Cross (5 Strategic Points)
Issued to units that have engaged the enemy against uncountable odds. Models in the unit increase the Armour Penetration characteristic to all of their melee weapons.

The Macharian Blood Drop (10 Strategic Points)
Issued to units that have taken over 90% casualties but not retreated. The unit gains Aura: All friendly Imperial units within 12″ increase their Objective Control characteristics by 1.

The Crossed Blades (10 Strategic Points)
Issued to units that have fought great enemies face to face and won. The unit gains the Lethal Hits ability on all of its melee weapons.

The Commiserate Star (10 Strategic Points)
