What is Narrative Gaming?

Warhammer 40,000: The Priam Crusade is a series of narrative events by FactoruM Events where we find out who will control the Priam Sub-Sector.

This is a narrative event covering the Imperial Priam Crusade into the Priam Sub-Sector. Each of the major races and factions of the 40,000 universe is interested in the Priam Sub-Sector for their own purpose.

The main antagonists are the forces of the Imperium and Chaos. The sub-sector has been under Chaos control since early M.40 and with the start of the Indomitus Crusade the local Sector Commander has called for this minor Crusade.

As players you will decide the fate of the Crusade as well as the fate of your individual faction. Each faction has its own army rules as well as its own goal, adhering to the goal will help your faction attain supremacy.

FactoruM Warminster run narrative events as well as tournaments and storyline events. A narrative event is an event where the actions of players will have an impact on the ongoing narrative. In this case you do not have to role-play or do funny voices (although we definitely support any roleplay) but you will be expected to play in character, for example fighting tooth and nail versus Tyranids to stop them controlling a planet.

Players will be rewarded for narrative play (i.e. fulfilling your oath of moment) and players that play in a “gamey” manner may be penalised.

Narrative gaming will also require some book keeping, you will record characters injuries, successes and upgrades as well as casualties in units.

As a narrative event your unknown characters could become more powerful than any named character, be interned into a dreadnought or turn into a daemon prince.

Please be aware that this is a narrative event, as such any attitudes that contradict this will be looked at.

The idea of this event is to offer something different to provide you with an experience you can get nowhere else, and to truly allow you to forge the narrative and to develop the history of the Priam Sub-Sector.

Each faction has their own rules and can interact with the greater player base in their own way. From the Imperium just trying to retake the sector, the Votann trading and mining to the Tyranids who will, if left unchecked, consume the whole Sub Sector.

So if you are looking to field the 3rd Company of the Ultramarines in its full splendour then welcome aboard, we can’t wait to play with and against you.

How often do these run?

FactoruM Events are looking to run these events monthly. View the upcoming events on the FactoruM website. The idea is that this is a continuing narrative where all the players involved will constantly contribute to the history of the Priam Sub Sector… unless the Tyranids eat it all.
